June is supposed to be the start of Summer in this part of the world - but the sunny days in June could have be counted on fingers. It was all rain and no fun - and even though I love rain, it was just getting a little too gloomy. With the weather forecast looking hopeful this weekend, we stopped all our cribbing-about-rain and set out to visit Martha's Vineyard - an island close-by. Although I've been living in Massachusetts for over 2 years now, I never got to visit Cape Cod and its beaches and this weekend was the time when I could strike it off from my To-Visit List. Here are a few snippets from the Visit..
A Rose is a rose is a rose..
A lovely sunny day..
Nope! That wasn't a crash - Just two boats crossing each other (Poor pic Quality)
Two Best friends that never meet ... Water and Sky
Wouldn't it be lovely to live here...
and wake up everyday to see this...
where water is this pristine..
The Island was beautiful and it was quite refreshing to get away from all the traffic for a while. We drove for an hour, took a ferry to reach the island and the best part of the trip was to get to see most of the Island on bike. The Island had 6 towns and we went around to see three of them. The houses in these towns were very artistic and unique. We did a lot of biking, about 14-15 miles precisely and a little walking (1-2 miles) - so you can imagine the state of my body (one which recognizes exercise as walking from parking lot to office/home). It was great to get back on a bike after 13 years, and I was quite apprehensive if I would be able to bike even a mile without letting gravity fail me. I wish the weekend was a little longer, to get me out of my cramps and body aches. But unfortunately - All Bad Things start on Monday, so its back to work tomorrow :-(
To perfectly seal the weekend, we went to see a fireworks display close to my home tonight and it was amazing. Sadly, I couldn't take any pics as I left my cam at home.
BTW - This is my 50th post! I never ever thought I would even reach this small milestone (for a person who gets bored very easily). Now that I've reached here, I wish to cross a few more milestones at my own steady pace. Hope you guys had a great weekend!
